Object care

Every mutaé object is handmade from materials with character and requires attentive treatment. Thoughtful care preserves the beauty of the forms, the depth of leather tones, and the shine of metal over the years.

CORE

(Chèvre leather)

We use high-quality, soft goat leather, treated to reveal its natural texture. Each object has its own grain and tone, making it unique. A light natural leather scent during the first uses is normal and will fade over time.

  • Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dust and marks from handling.

  • Avoid direct sunlight and prolonged exposure to heat sources, as this may dry out the leather.

  • Keep away from perfumes, cosmetic products, and other liquids, which may leave stains.

  • Avoid moisture. If the leather gets wet, gently blot it with a soft cloth and let it dry naturally.

ORBIT

(silver-tone spherical beads)

The ORBIT form is made from acrylic spherical beads with a metal coating, giving it sculptural volume and a high-shine, mirror-like surface.

  • Store in the soft pouch it came with at purchase.
  • Avoid direct contact with other metal accessories.
  • Keep away from moisture, perfumes, and cosmetic products.
  • When cleaning, wipe only with a soft cloth free of abrasive materials.

ECHO

(chainmail)

The chainmail structure is soft and fluid, with trailing metal details.

  • Store flat or in a soft pouch. Do not compress into a tight shape.
  • Keep away from moisture, perfumes, and cosmetic products.
  • Handle with care around fine or knitted fabrics, as the decorative metal details may catch.
  • If the chain links twist, gently straighten them by hand. Do not pull with force.

GRID

(silver-tone chain links)

The GRID form has an open graphic chain structure with strength and movement.

  • Store separately from other metal objects to avoid tangling.
  • Keep away from moisture, perfumes, and cosmetic products.
  • Handle with care around fine or knitted fabrics, as the connecting metal elements may catch.
  • If the links twist, gently straighten them, taking your time.

Charms

(Orb, Link, Shard)

Charms are silver-tone stainless steel accents with sculptural details, each designed for a specific form or to be worn separately.

  • Remove charms carefully, holding directly by the clasp. Do not pull the decorative elements.
  • Store separately from one another and from other metal items.
  • Orb Charm features spherical beads. Store it in a soft pouch to preserve their smooth surface.
  • Shard Charm has a multi-chain pendant. Gently straighten the chains if they tangle.
  • Keep away from moisture, perfumes, and cosmetic products.

Signature M accent

The Signature M accent is our signature mark, accompanying every object as part of the studio’s identity.

  • Wipe with a soft, dry cloth along with the other metal elements.
  • Avoid direct contact with moisture, perfumes, and cosmetic products.

Leather strap

The round cord is made from Italian waxed leather.

  • Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use.
  • Avoid prolonged contact with moisture and do not leave in damp places.
  • Do not leave in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
  • Keep away from perfumes and cosmetic products.
  • Do not bend the cord at a sharp angle for extended periods, as this may leave a mark.
  • With frequent contact against hard surfaces, the material may develop natural marks of wear; this is part of its character.
  • Store straight or gently coiled in a soft pouch.

 

EVERYDAY USE

Attentive handling every day preserves the object’s form for years to come.

  • Do not overload CORE. The object is made from soft leather, and excessive weight may stretch the silhouette.
  • Close the magnetic clasp with a gentle motion, without force; it engages on its own from a distance.
  • When changing forms, for example from ORBIT to ECHO, carefully unclasp the carabiners, holding the chain by the clasp rather than the middle.
  • When removing a form from the base, do not pull; let the metal slide out freely.
  • Do not rest the object on rough surfaces, as this may scratch the leather or metal.
  • When travelling, carry the object in hand luggage, inside its dust bag, to avoid compression and sudden temperature changes.

STORAGE

  • Keep objects in the dust bag provided at purchase.
  • Ideal conditions are a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat sources.
  • Do not leave the object in plastic bags for extended periods; leather needs to breathe.
  • Store forms (ORBIT, GRID, and ECHO) each in their own pouch.
  • For long-term storage of CORE, fill it with soft material to help preserve its shape. If the leather creases, gently smooth it out by hand.

IF SOMETHING HAPPENS

The object got wet. Blot with a soft cloth; do not rub. Let it dry naturally in a dry place, away from heating appliances.

A stain appeared on the leather. Do not attempt to clean it yourself with non-specialised products. Contact us; we will recommend a professional or help you find another solution.

The metal has tarnished. This is a natural process. Use a soft polishing cloth or a specialised metal polishing product without harsh ingredients. If you are unsure which product to use, contact us before applying it.

The chain got tangled. Take your time and gently straighten it by hand. Do not pull with force. If you cannot untangle it, contact us.

The leather has stretched or lost its shape. Fill the interior of CORE with soft material and leave it for a few days in a dry place. If the shape does not recover, contact us.
